A prefect climate, an incredible number of mountain passes and world famous beaches make this place a must-been for winter training. And this is where the second part of our Californian Trip will take place.

 

Explore some of the most famous cycling places of California like Palomar Mountain, Big Bear Lake and even the infamous Mount Baldy. They're no better place on earth to spend 8 days on the bike in November.

DESCRIPTION

Our staff will wait you at the arrival gate of Los Angeles Airport and transfer you to our hotel to meet the first week riders. We'll have time to share stories about last week trip from San Francisco. Our mechanic will be on hand to set up your bike.

ALTERNATIVE RIDE

Depending of the timing between transfer and flight, we would go on a small ride to check if everything is going smoothly.

DESCRIPTION

Santa Monica - Pasadena

 

Starting in Santa Monica, we'll go along the coast and take a right to Malibu mountains. We'll descend back into Los Angeles and pass Hollywood Hill and the famous Hollywood Boulevard.

DESCRIPTION

Pasadena - Ontario

 

Shortest stage, but this one is a big one. Why ? Mount Baldy, a place where the nicest stories of the Tour of California has been written. With its summit at over 1900 meters, it will be a tough ride. Then, it's a joyful 30 km descent into Ontario.

Ontario - Big Bear Lake

 

If you think that yesterday's stage was a nasty one, this one is at least as much nasty as Mount Baldy stage. Starting in Ontario, we'll take the direction of Lake Arrowhead and ride a lap og it. Then we'll head to Running Spring  and Big Bear Lake. The ski station city culminates at over 2000 meters and this is the highest city of southern Califormnia. To give you an idea, the Tourmalet is just over 2100 meters altitude.

DESCRIPTION

Big Bear Lake - Idyllwild

 

After an early breakfast, we'll leave the stunning Big Bear Lake to take the direction of Onyx Summit, the highest pass of Southern California with over 2500 meters of altitude. Literaly breathtaking. This will be followed by a 50 km descent before the Oak Glen climb and the Panoramic Highway to Idyllwild.

Idyllwild - Julian

 

We'll leave San Jacinto mountains and take the direction to Mount Palomar, the Alpe d'Huez Californian twin. With 18 km and an average gradient just under 7%, Mount Palomar has nothing to envy to his European twin. After the 21 switchbacks, only 50 km will separate us from our next hotel.

DESCRIPTION

Julian - San Diego

 

This is the ultimate stage of what will be one of the most amazing trip of our life ! Leaving the gold-mining mountain town of Julian, the ride will be a nice flowing and light 100 km descent down to San Diego.

This is the Ultimate end of our Californian Trip. We hope that you'll enjoy it as much as we'll ! Our mechanic will give you a hand to pack your bike and we'll drive you back to the airport with plenty of unforgettable memories.
