Our staff will wait you at the arrival gate of Los Angeles Airport and transfer you to our hotel to meet the first week riders. We'll have time to share stories about last week trip from San Francisco. Our mechanic will be on hand to set up your bike.
Depending of the timing between transfer and flight, we would go on a small ride to check if everything is going smoothly.
Santa Monica - Pasadena
Starting in Santa Monica, we'll go along the coast and take a right to Malibu mountains. We'll descend back into Los Angeles and pass Hollywood Hill and the famous Hollywood Boulevard.
Key Climb : Latigo Peak • Piuma • Griffith Observatory
Pasadena - Ontario
Shortest stage, but this one is a big one. Why ? Mount Baldy, a place where the nicest stories of the Tour of California has been written. With its summit at over 1900 meters, it will be a tough ride. Then, it's a joyful 30 km descent into Ontario.
Key Climb : Mount Baldy
Ontario - Big Bear Lake
If you think that yesterday's stage was a nasty one, this one is at least as much nasty as Mount Baldy stage. Starting in Ontario, we'll take the direction of Lake Arrowhead and ride a lap og it. Then we'll head to Running Spring and Big Bear Lake. The ski station city culminates at over 2000 meters and this is the highest city of southern Califormnia. To give you an idea, the Tourmalet is just over 2100 meters altitude.
Key Climb : Old Waterman • Running Springs
Big Bear Lake - Idyllwild
After an early breakfast, we'll leave the stunning Big Bear Lake to take the direction of Onyx Summit, the highest pass of Southern California with over 2500 meters of altitude. Literaly breathtaking. This will be followed by a 50 km descent before the Oak Glen climb and the Panoramic Highway to Idyllwild.
Key Climb : Onyx Summit • Oak Glen • Lone Pine
Idyllwild - Julian
We'll leave San Jacinto mountains and take the direction to Mount Palomar, the Alpe d'Huez Californian twin. With 18 km and an average gradient just under 7%, Mount Palomar has nothing to envy to his European twin. After the 21 switchbacks, only 50 km will separate us from our next hotel.
Key Climb : Sage Rd • Palomar Mountain
Julian - San Diego
This is the ultimate stage of what will be one of the most amazing trip of our life ! Leaving the gold-mining mountain town of Julian, the ride will be a nice flowing and light 100 km descent down to San Diego.
Key Climb : Engineers Rd
This is the Ultimate end of our Californian Trip. We hope that you'll enjoy it as much as we'll ! Our mechanic will give you a hand to pack your bike and we'll drive you back to the airport with plenty of unforgettable memories.
