100 Years of UCI World Championships.
Would you join us ?
It all started with the first UCI Road World Championships in the year 1921. The Danish capital Copenhagen set the stage for that very first battle for the World title. In the years that followed, the greatest Champions donned the rainbow jersey and now the time has come to crown winners in a genuine jubilee edition.
After all, the UCI and cycling will celebrate the 100th anniversary of their Road World Championships in 2021 and the battle for the white jersey with rainbow bands across the chest will be fought on hallowed cycling ground: Flanders, where champions are born.
In the previous 100 years, Belgium has hosted the Road World Championships 9 times, 6 of those were in Flanders, and has lauded 26 World Champions. From 18 to 26 September 2021, the cycling mad region of Flanders will once again become the epicentre of racing, and the peloton is coming home for the 2021 UCI Road World Championships Flanders, Belgium.
Altitude Training has therefor taken this opportunity to create a package around that special event. Customers will be experiencing what Belgium has best to offer during a week of full cycling fest and celebration. This is an unique opportunity, a once in a lifetime that you have to catch now.

Welcome in Belgium, the country of beer, waffle and cycling ! Our crew will welcome you at Brussels airport, then, our shuttle will drive you up to the highest hotel in Belgium from where we’ll start our first ride.
A welcome drink and a briefing will be given after dinner, during which you’ll all receive your welcome pack.
If the timing allows us to, we’ll go for a first warmup ride in the beautiful region of the Hautes Fagnes.
The Eastern part of Belgium is called the Ardennes (also called Hardennes, you’ll understand why…) is home to the oldest classic of the cycling calendar. We’ll tackle the last 100 last kilometers of the « Doyenne », Liège-Bastogne-Liège, featuring all majors difficulties.
After reaching the finish in Liège, we’ll head down to our next hotel where we’ll spend the next couples nights.
Main route : 135km /// 2500m elevation
Alternative route : 97km /// 1700m elevation
Today, we’ll head North, on the other side of the Belgian border, in Nederland for the most known Dutch classic, the Amstel Gold Race. If you follow cycling, you already know about this place from the spectacular sprint of Mathieu Van Der Poel in 2019, or the closest finish we’ve seen in years between Wout Van Aert and Tom Pidcock, or the mighty attack of Philippe Gilbert before sealing his world title !
Well, you’ll experience the last 80 kilometers of it, at a place that breath cycling, with a great coffee spot as a bonus.
Ride : 155km /// 2100m elevation
Alternative route : 72km /// 1000m elevation
At Altitude Training, we don’t like doing transfers by car, and that’s why we’ll ride all the way from Wallonia to Flanders, where will take place the 2021 World Championship. Once arrived in Louvain, we will ride on the World’s course, on the Flanders loop and local circuit.
If you’ve chosen the short stay, this is where your journey starts. Our staff member will join you at the airport and transfer you with the rest of the group.
Ride : 150km /// 1500m elevation
Alternative route : 70km /// 900m elevation
After the Ardennes, time to have a taste of the Tour of Flanders. This place is home of cycling. Bergs (small step hills) and cobbles are what made the Tour of Flanders what it is now. This is brutal racing where the winner is never a lucky man, but the strongest of the race.
Our ride today will feature 170 kilometers of the official course, this doesn’t get any better.
Ride : 170km /// 2000m elevation
Alternative route : 74km /// 870m elevation
Finally ! You came all the way to Belgium for this. It’s not everyday that the UCI World Championship takes place in Belgium, and that’s a perfect time to celebrate and cheers all the participants. The women will be the first to open the dance, and we’ll be on the side of the road, with beers and waffles !
We’ll squeeze in a short morning ride before setting off the World Championship location by car.
Last day, but what a day it’s going to be ! This is the mean event, one of the most important day of the year for any cyclists, where they all represent their own country.
We’ll spend all our day on the side of the course, witnessing the madness of the 2021 UCI World Championship taking place in Belgium, land of cycling.
If you would like to extend your stay with us for the night, please get in touch by email. Otherwise, we’ll drive you back to Brussel airport after celebrating the race winner!
